I’ve been drawing with coloured pencils for many years now and I am always looking, like many of us to continue to improve my work. 
 
Recently I’ve been trialing different approaches to the medium in order for me to not only grow as an artist myself but share with you the best practices I’ve found.
 
Over the past month or so, I have been adding pan pastels to my coloured pencil work which has given me some amazing results and provide so much more depth than just using coloured pencils on their own. 
 
There are so many amazing new techniques that I’ve learnt combining these mediums and I wanted to demonstrate some of these in a masterclass. 
 
Whilst it is entirely possible to draw this guy purely in coloured pencils, i do think adding the pans creates so much depth and atmosphere - plus it significantly cuts down the amount of pencil required so is also much faster than just using coloured pencils on their own.
