One thing so many of us struggle with is creating enough depth to our work. This can come down to a few things; not enough layers but also not enough colours or not using colours as effectively as we can.
 
This little zebra study could look super flat as it’s face on and essentially just ‘black and white’… so in this drawing challenge, I’m going to share with you just how to incorporate colour theory and ‘hidden’ colours into your work to really create depth and realism with coloured pencils.
 
In this challenge I break down the fundamentals of colour theory so you’ll gain a solid understanding of colour relationships, how to use complementary colours, and tips for creating harmony and contrast in your work. This knowledge will help you to make informed colour choices and enhance the realism of your drawings.
 
Capturing intricate details and textures with coloured pencils can be daunting, especially when trying to draw realistic subjects like this one. 
This challenge provides a step-by-step approach, from the initial line art to final details, we cover every aspect of the process. You’ll learn techniques for capturing the intricate patterns of zebra stripes, the texture of fur, and the nuances of light and shadow.
 
What the challenge includes and how is it different from my usual masterclasses? 
 
Whilst this class has the same fundamentals of a masterclass, the key aim is to teach colour theory as it’s something that so many of us struggle with and the idea of the challenge is to help you to improve with this aspect so you can take the knowledge and use it on future drawings.
